Dorset Energized Full Website Launched

I have been working with my Partner Web Designer Anna Celeste Watson on completing the fully illustrated Dorset Energized website. The site promotes the benefits of all forms of renewable energy including electric cars, solar panels and wind turbines in Dorset and aims to expand throughout the UK.

I was pleased to have been commissioned to illustrate each page of the website to show the different renewable technologies and how they could fit into everyday life.

The full website is now live on www.dorsetenergized.co.uk so have a look and let me know what you think!

Viva! Campaign T-Shirts

The animal rights charity Viva! asked me via Compassionate Dorset to adapt our 'Highland Cow' t-shirt design to help raise funds to save two young highland steers Hamish and Dougal from slaughter in Cape Cornwall and send them to a new home at the Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Norfolk.

The limited edition organic t-shirts for men and women are now available to buy with all profits being donated to the Viva! campaign to 'Save Hamish & Dougal'.

Benjamin Zephaniah Poem in Resurgence Magazine

I am very excited to have been commissioned to illustrate 'Luv Song' a poem by the leading contemporary poet Benjamin Zephaniah which has now been published in the March/April 2012 issue of Resurgence Magazine.

The poem is Benjamin's paean to the humble hedgehog, and the illustration has been used to accompany it in a special edition on 'ANIMALS: A NEW ETHICS' totally dedicated to the subject of animal rights.

After submitting the illustration I was pleased to receive a personal thumbs up from Benjamin who commented:

"That hedgehog is cool. Brilliant."

ethicaledge® Website

My Partner Web Designer Anna Celeste Watson commissioned me to create several illustrations for ethicaledge® - the first charity recruitment agency to specialise in connecting digital marketing managers, social media specialists and talented communications people with amazing charity jobs. Our favourite illustration is also used on a separate blog for Lauren Bates - the founder of ethicaledge®.

The site has made it to the shortlist of Site Inspections in the design industry magazine New Media Age getting a very good score for 'Branding' based on its simple 'eye-catching cartoon-style design' and was recommended as 'one to keep an eye on' once the site content builds up.

Dorset Energized Holding Site

This Autumn I am working with my Partner Web Designer Anna Celeste Watson on a fully illustrated website for an exciting initiative Dorset Energized (working title) that aims to expand both by county and nationally in the UK. The site will promote the benefits of renewable energy from electric cars, to solar panels, to wind turbines, and is aimed specifically at the general public and small businesses.

After putting forward our concept for the overall look and feel for the website, the project has got the go ahead for funding, so we hope we can lead the way here in Dorset and get people 'energized' with renewable energy!

Please let us know your feedback on what you would like to see on the site!

Anya17 Contemporary Opera

I am currently working on the logo and graphic design work for Anya17 - an extraordinary opera which seeks to expose the desperate plight of sex trafficking victims in the UK.

Anya17 is an original, compelling operatic story of an eastern-European ingénue who leaves her homeland for a new life in the West. Dark undercurrents are soon evident as her decision to forge a new future casts her into a relentless whirlpool of trauma, emotional disintegration and death.

Following Librettist Ben Kaye's lauded collaboration 'Eternal Voices' with 'British Composer Award' Winner Adam Gorb, Anya17 premieres by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Ensemble 10/10 on March 7th 2012.

A documentary following the progress of the production of Anya17 starts this September by Liverpool Hope, headed by BAFTA award winner Francis Vose.
